Important Announcement

This is to inform the general public that we’ve come to a unanimous decision to keep the Nunnery completely closed to visitors during the months of July and August, which is when all the nuns are in silent retreat during the rainy season (Varsa). The main gate will remain locked during that period so we will not be allowing visitors to the Temple, the Dragon Cafe or Tara House.

It’s also important to note during the month of June most of the nuns are in holidays so the nunnery is not in its usual rhythm. Visitors are allowed during that time but the different pujas will only be performed by a small group of nuns.

The nunnery will open its doors once again in early September resuming all activities as usual. All visitors are welcome to come at that time.
